FAQ

Q. What is the difference between a counseling session and a boxing session?

A. Counseling will include talk therapy and use of other treatment modalities (i.e. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, etc.) and boxing may or may not be incorporated in sessions. A boxing session will solely focus on learning the fundamentals and techniques of boxing. Although there will be a number of skills built in session, no specific topics will be discussed in relation to the individual or group. No prior athletic experience or ability needed for boxing session.

Q. What can I expect when I call to book an appointment?

A. We will talk for a few minutes to discuss what you are looking for and your availability. You will be asked about whether or not you plan to use insurance (for counseling) or are private pay. You will be asked to provide an email address in order to complete some initial paperwork prior to your first appointment.

Q. How does payment work?

A. Insurance can only be used on counseling sessions. Copays are due at the time of service. If you are not using insurance for counseling, the full fee is due at the time of the appointment. Cash, credit card, or check are accepted for counseling and boxing sessions. If cancellation occurs less than 24 hours before your appointment you will be charged the full amount for the session. For more pricing information please contact us. Sliding fee scale is available upon request.

Q. How often will we meet?

A. The frequency of counseling or coaching is mutually agreed upon during the first session and is largely based on your presenting issues and the goals set forth. This can vary over time depending on progress. Group sessions and workshops usually meet weekly, though this may also vary.
